We have a new commercial which includes parkour movements. I never shot parkour. Any help would be appreciatted: direct advices, websites, tutorials, lighting, frame rates, editing techniques etc
Sorry if this thread is not in the right place.. Thanks in advance. |

Try Google and youtube for videos out there. From there you can figure out what you need for your job.
Make sure your talent is good (talented/experienced), rested. Try higher frames rates like 72/96 fps while shooting - Wider lens selection most likely - Steadicam for sure... How many cameras can you afford to have on set? |

Don't know if anyone else has posted this one (couldn't be bothered to watch all the others):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAMAr8y-Vtw This one was quite a successful BBC trailer with a French dude who's big in Parkour.

What exactly will you be shooting? I would have thought you'd be safest sticking to high frame rates , wide-ish lenses and as many angles as you can cover (just in case one of the runners falls off a building and you cant repeat a take).
Watch as much reference as you can. You can see parkour in a bunch of films nowadays, like Casino Royale, District 13, one of the bournes (i think its ultimatum) even the first matrix I guess. There was a cool doco i remember called jump london too. Where are you shooting out of interest? I noticed a piece in the newspaper about parkour taking off over here. |
