Default Birger Nikon Mount Update?

Apologies if I missed this information in one of the other Birger threads, but now that the Canon mounts are out in the wild, is there an updated timeframe for the Birger Nikon mounts? I'm sure Erik is reluctant to set dates after his Canon experience, but there are a lot of Nikon users out here who would love to be Birger customers (and we're much nicer than those Canon people :)).

Cheers,
Tim

We started back up with the Nikon program, and will announce a schedule at NAB/REDuser. Given the time elapsed, we are evaluating a new actuator for the iris lever. We are very excited (in an enginerd sort of a way) about this change.

Is the Nikonmount from RED really that bad, totally useless?

Stories of lenses that don't sit tightly or even fall right off...?

The Red Nikon mount has given me no problems after a year of use with a variety of lenses. The Birger would bring the benefit of electronic control (and facilitate remote control), so that is what drives my interest.

Cheers,
Tim

Good to hear Tim,

I heard they don't hold the lenses properly and allows the slrs to slide sideways so that the lenses turn as one focuses, but then I shall pray that is not the case.

Merci,

Fred
