Default new Jamfuze info

heloo everyone
the posh developers are nearly ready with an "SDK" based jamfuze
(for those that don't know what it is
see other posts down in this forum...or go to
www.jamieparry.demon.co.uk and have a look at the videos of my demo)

so i'm probably not going to be around when it's ready to test out in the wild.
if you want it send an email to
jamie@sumners.co.uk
with jamfuze beta as the title and i'll set a rule to forward it to the relevant people.
so far progress is this
R3D to DNX36 avid MXF 6fps ish on a dual core 32 bit mac so reasonable expectations for real time ish on an 8 core 64 bit mac (like mine woo hoo!)

I think other codecs etc are going in and when i asked for DV at 23.976 i was met with blank stares of the "why wouldn't we do that" kind and they said it would probably happen.
that's probably happen instead of in my case "never gonna happen" so we're up on the deal already guys.

ALE and EDL stuff is in and you have a progress meter(!!!)
still mac os x only for now
still $49

so like i say if you're interested
email
jamie@sumners.co.uk
with
jamfuze beta
as the title
cheers
jamie

We're going to be installing a new MacPro just for Metafuze processing very soon .... so that means some kind of Windows as well. Man I'd love to only run Jamfuze.

I believe with the releases of RED tools offering native MXF/DNxHD, usrs will need to re-evalate their overall pipleine and solutions. For dailies, ROCKETCINE-X with native Avid media is fast, with complete metadata. A step by step guide reflecting that be available soon.

michael,

doesn't rocketcine-x require a redrocket??

what about for those who haven't bought one?

which new red tools go straight from .r3d to dnxhd .mxf files??

and can any of 'em go to avid SD .omf media???

(dang... i've been more out of the loop then i thought)

Default dude there's been no loop to be out of....

hiya everyone
jamfuze development/deployment was taken away from me at my boss's request so i haven't done anything with it at all! i've just been doing colourist stuff, so a proper, fast workflow to encode dnx36 mxf (or 10:1 SD mxf) from r3d and then conform a project ON A SYMPHONY to dnx185 or uncompressed mxf is good news as far as i'm concerned.
However I don't believe that's what is on the table yet (i'm not sure though as I don't really have access to RED/AVID things like other people on this list)
jamfuze still does all the things I listed above. But only in my room. sorry.

Correct that native Avid DNxHD requires a REDROCKET card - perhaps I am extrapolating what I am seeing into the future a bit by seeing what is being done in REDCINE-x which has some of the DNxHD work in it, but not complete. I am putting those two together and seeing a future where there is software and hardware accelerated transcode to dailies formats including Avid DNxHD.

I don't know of plans to do SD, although that is not difficult, it only is a metadata change, not the media itself. Deanan and I have discusses how this is done - it is their overloaded feature list and priority to manage.
