Default More news...

RED is announcing the addition of several new pieces to the EPIC and Scarlet modular system.

1. The new Bomb EVF. 1/3 the size and weight of the original EVF with improved image quality. Can be used with EPIC, Scarlet or RED ONE systems.

2. A new EPIC/Scarlet OVF (optical viewfinder) module is in development.

3. New rods/rails, base plate and handheld system.

4. New battery technology that works in the accessory side handle and/or battery modules. You can also use RED Bricks with EPIC and Scarlet.

5. New types of flash memory recording modules along with CF card modules.

6. New Pro I/O module.

7. New LCDs, including two touch screen versions.

These are all in addition to the Mysterium-X sensor program that has significantly more dynamic range, higher useful ISO, and less noise than the RED ONE Mysterium sensor.

The EPIC and Scarlet system share all modules and are independently upgradeable. Upgrade only what you want/need as technology advances.

EPIC-X is 5K at 100fps with REDCODE 250. 4K and Quad HD at 125fps. 3K at 160fps. 2K at 250fps.

Wow! Will all this be available when Epic X ships?

And what does Optical Viewfinder mean?

Very promising.

An OVF in development is the big news for me!

Great route.

We will have the new Bomb EVF working for those who find us at the show tomorrow.. the new Bomb EVF also works with the RED ONE as Jim mentions.. so we will find the RED ONES on the show floor and give it a go for any that are interested.. it's worth seeing.

Wow!! Any ETA on the Bomb EVF? Not sure if you're trying to make that available prior to Epic

Are any of these other accessories slated for pre-Epic/Scarlet release?

Will be driving to Amsterdam in exactly 5 hours. See you there Jim and Jarred... I'll be the one with the speedy eyes and bald head.
