Default LaunchPAD launched today at Ted's House...redrocket for laptops

so a new product has been created that basically allows you to use your redrocket with your laptop and achieve top speed.

ill let the experts tell you more about the product when they chime in...but here are some pics at the historic event which took place today 10/09/09 at ted's lovely home in LA.

present were ted, me (dino), luki, garry (ted's buddy), and the peter the genius that invented this crazy awesome machine...

and it played back some of the adam lambert 2012 footage at 4k res flawlessly...(ok i lied a little, it is not yet compatible at 24fps for rc42 4.5k, but the non-b21 footage played back at 4k perfectly).

enjoy...

Yup definitely awesome!
Would love to hear about availability and pricing.

As I and many DITs out there have a 15" MBP for on set work. Wondering if there is any reason it wouldn't work with a late 08 latest gen release 15" MBP (one of the few 15" that were manufactured with an Express card slot)?

I mean similar processor power (2.66GHZ) and most of the processing will be done on the RR.
Identical FSB (1067MHZ) and Express lane band widths (2.5GBT) and up to 8GB of RAM.
Only thing I can think of is that it wont sit flush on the sides... I will be very happy with that if I can play back real-time 4K to HD OUT OF A LAPTOP ON SET!!!

I like very much what Peter Majtan is doing.

But I couldn't wait for his product and went to Magma ExpressBox Pro.

The second reason is a battery issue.

I do not want to deal with more batteries on the road for many reasons...

Also I'm sure that Peter's box has AC/DC ...

The third is that Magma ExpressBox Pro can accept some other card too just in case...

The fourth is that Magma ExpressBox Pro can be also connected with the host card to a desktop.

i think he using the magma too at this point, but has another trick up his sleeve...the challenge is keeping the box cool, which he has solved... and he did say it will except other cards.

his battery solution is very very slick..although he told us a funny airport story, which ill let him elaborate on.
