Default How to crop an image?

Hello,
I have Avid Adrenaline, and Mediacomposer ver 2.6.3
I cant do a simple task: i have two videotracks, and i want to crop video on the top track. i add a resize effect, and crop an image, but in cropped area i see just a black background, but i need to see a video from the bottom videotrack. I cant find a menu where i have background options color and video, in effect menu in background options i have only color menu. So if someone knows please share these secret.
Thanks.
