Default Project Red is descending upon you - Red test #22 and #40

Project Red is finally live!!

http://www.projectred.net

For those of you who havent heard about it before:

http://www.projectred.net/overview

Project Red is a collaboration between myself and the guys at fxphd.com which aims to go beyond testing, there are lots of folks here and elsewhere that will be doing that. While we certainly will be doing some testing as well, the main purpose of project red is quite different.

We're gathering film makers from all over the world to come together and produce a green energy PSA with some of the first Red Cams (#22 and #40 to be exact.) Our whole process is going to be open source and documented on the site. From our source footage to our project files, we're gonna upload it all, and license it freely under the creative commons.

Unlike some of the other closed door testing going on, Project Red is just the opposite and we're aiming to get everyone involved. In fact we'd like you join the team and potentially get your hands on a red cam. If your at the back of the queue I cant think of anything better!

Our site is still a baby so be gentle with it and let us know if shes not behaving.

We're super excited about this and we hope all of you will be too! Registration page is: http://projectred.net/register All the cool kids are doing it.

emery, this looks really cool, but there doesn't seem to be any content on your "recruits" page.

great idea to use RED to give back to the planet. we hope to be doing the same shortly....with #1008 and#1248, so i'll be looking forward to more of your blog postings.

the website looks good. I just registered. Where are you guys located?

I'm interested in the green energy PSA. Solar System Studio will eventually be powered by a solar system. I've been wanting to do a little piece on this company:

Gah! I'm sitting here looking at a nearly-empty calendar for the next couple months, and also a completely empty recruiting page. What gives, Wells? ;)

No rush, don't break the site. Looking forward to this process immensely.

Really glad you guys are digging the concept.

Curran - Im based in NYC and fxpdh.com guys are in Sydney, Chicago, and LA. We hope to make this as global as budget will allow.

flameop - yea actually you arent the first one to say this. Actually those icons are the quicktime component icons... they do look strikingly similar to the image not found icons.

caliyoung - I know i know. We're getting all the info in there soon. The 'launch web site' button was burning a hole in my finger, wanted to start letting everyone in on the process!
