How soon is now?

Is there ANYONE who knows or think they even have a vague idea where Red stands in regard to delivery and how many customers are currently on the waiting list?

Does Red have any projection as to an increase in the 25/Month production level they seem to be at now?

I thought I remembered the initial reservations as being one thousand and that Red allowed more even after that...

Over 2000 Red's have been reservered or ordered.

How long it takes to deliver those will vary on how long it takes to get the build rock solid.

I looked all over for that information.

I don't get why that info is not right on the main page of the Red Camera website, but what do I know about marketing a new camera?

Probably because dates fluctuate so much that Jim doesn't want to give out any false promises, only to have people upset later.

My guess, you order today, you'll get it in may..

The first 50 have shipped but from my point of view, Red is not yet in "regular production" and some wrinkles are still being ironed out. It looks like it will be quite some time before a Red is something that can be shipped from stock when an order is placed. My takeaway is that if you can't live with some (significant!) uncertainty in the delivery schedule, you should not order a Red yet. On the other hand some Reds are available for rent right now, and that availability will only increase as time goes on.

I heard Wednesday from Jim Mathers (RED #30) and Tom Fletcher that there are over 4000 orders now. Don't know how they know, though.
