LCD humming

Have been filming for a day now with build 14. Suddenly the LCD startet to beep constantly and i havnt stopped since. I remember someone mentioning this before, but thought that it was fixed right away. Downloaded build 14 yesterday.

If I reinstall 14 will this keep happening?

The camera is superb by the way!!!!!!! Well done RED team.

just to make sure...
Build 14 (v2.0.2) posted 2-6-08- it had a LCD noise issue ..

they posted a Build 14 (v2.0.3) on 2-7-08 that fixed the increase noise of LCD ..
i would re-download build 14 today and load it in just to be sure ...

You may want to try and re-install build 14, then if that doesn't work try build 13 and see if anything changes.

All LCD's hum, but you say yours is beeping, I don't really know what may be wrong but that may be a tentative solution.

Does anyone know why the Red LCD hums and emits high pitched noise? Maybe someone from Red could comment on this please? I'm actually somewhat concerned about buying a monitor that does this...

Yes we do know the root cause of that and hence the software update. The noise level should be the same now between any build up thru Build and again with V2.0.3 Build 14... we made an error in the V2.0.1 and V2.0.2 - which were Beta builds - of Build 14.

I do have the newest version of build 14. Upgraded yesterday as I got my camera only yesterday. At first everything was fine, then suddenly it just felt like beeping like hell. Hasn't stopped since.

Should I just reinstall 14 or do I have to downgrade to 13 and then upgrade again?

Other than that the camera rocks!

Try down grading to 13 and see if that works. Build 14 is still in beta build I believe. 13 is rock solid.

Then see if the beeping is gone.

I downgraded to 13 and upgraded again. Problem solved! Hope it doesn't pop again. I like build 14 with it's 3k options. Will there be a non-beta release soon or will it go straight to build 15?

Sooo. Problem's back. But only when adjusting the brightness on the LCD. I downgraded to 13 and then upgraded again yesterday. It beeps non-stop, except for when the LCD is at the highest brightness. Is this a known problem?
