    Rand, your secret is out!

I've been playing with 3D LUT Creator the past few weeks, and it is ah-mazing. It is unfortunate that they don't have native R3D media decoding yet (I suggested they put it on their list), but everything else it does is Just So Cool.

    Michael,

It is something special! I've been using it about the same amount time, about the last 3 or 4 weeks now. But Resolve still does certain things better. Although you can do more corrections at once, Resolve lets you make more corrections of certain parts of the image. 3Dlut Creator is really good for changing colors around, but not as good Resolve for isolatng things out of the image.I also like the Primary color corrections tools more in Resolve. However, if you want to add another powerful color correction tool, 3DLut Creator Pro is one program you really need to look into.

    Michael,

Yeah, unfortunately, you'll have to export a .Tiff or .Jpeg out of Redcine-x or Resolve to use as a reference for the Lut you make. Like you, I wish we could use a.r3d frame also. Resolve is still my "Main Squeeze" and 3Dlut Creator Pro is like my hot "Side Chick"... Ha Ha.

Nice job Tobi & Rand. You're giving me hope for RED skintones yet. Tobi, any chance you shoot some skintone with Tungsten light wtih a bit of daylight peeking in? This is really where I've struggled with RED footage in the past.
