So do I understand it correctly that the Otus cannot be declicked aperture?

Does that make the ZF2 a bit better for cine-modding and use on the RED? Cheaper too..

Trying to decide between vintage Contax and the Otus/Milvus.

Yessss. If they made an 18mm or even a 14mm my set would be complete for life. 14mm/18mm Otus, 25mm Milvus, 55mm Otus, 85mm Otus is all I would really need.

That is good news and they must be eager to kick some butt against the ARRI Signature Primes.
Well when a company can engineer optics for the EUV machines from ASML they are sure able to produce the next best optics for Photo/Video/Cinema.

If you have a Nikon Mount Otus (which can be adapted to EF Mount), you can have a declicked aperture on the lens.

I personally use the Canon Mount lenses though because I prefer focus pull direction to be "the right way".

Zeiss is going to show their new set of high speed FF primes around Cine Gear, for some reason they did not show at NAB. They are very impressive. Sell your Master Primes.
