  1. #1 Any way to add a 2nd SDI out to the Komodo ?
I just got my Komodo - yeyyy :)

Then I tried to connect both a monitor and a wireless transmitter without looping - oops, Komodo has only 1 SDI port...

Is there any way to add a 2nd SDI out to the Komodo ?

You kind of want to have a screen with in /out SDI.

I use the Vaxis atom 600 TX it has SDI and HDMI out + wireless... solves a lot of problem with one stone.

Vaxis Atom 600 looks great, but I have Teradeks...

Would there be something like a "break box" that has SDI outs?

The RED Komodo's own "expander module" has 3 connections that look like SDI, but are labeled as "GPI" , "Genlock" and "Timecode".

Could I use any of those as SDI out ?

No. The expander module does not have SDI out(although they are BNC’s).

Which Teradek? Most have a loop-out. But my recommendation would be to have a monitoring device(monitor of VF) that has a loop-out/pass-thru and go into that FIRST, because you don’t want any (extra) delay on the image that you’re using to shoot by.

Yes the Teradek has a loop, but I wanted to avoid that for the same reason.

Funny thing is, that SmallHD made the "Focus Pro Komodo Kit 5 inch" monitor, to be specifically useful with the Komodo - having the control protocol for the camera is very nice. But this very same "specifically made for" monitor, lacks a SDI loop.

So, thanks to SmallHD, now I have to choose between having a camera control, or having SDI loop.

I'm using the Cine 7 most of the time on Komodo which has SDI and HDMI Outs.

The Indie 7 is has SDI Out as well, but that came out well after I nabbed the Cine version.

Indie 7 also has Komodo control?

Ok that may be a solution, although I was looking for a lightweight setup overall, like a 5 inch something...

+1 for the Cine7. I've had it for a while now and find myself using SDI to SDI or SDI to HDMI loop out often.

has anyone ever tried the freakshow hd sdi splitter? Maybe this might be an easy onboard solution to get a second sdi port.
