    Kudos to Jarred for supporting this. He has a lot of love for the R1 and even though the product may be EOL, I'm sure he loves that the camera is still being used and appreciated by people all over the world.

    As long as people understand and respect that there's nothing RED can do if something goes wrong, i.e. someone loses an important shot, I think it can turn out well.

    I hope R1 filmmakers keep shooting on it for years to come. It's got its own special place in filmmaking history.

    @Nick : Can someone accept my request to enter the Red one group? I've sent it about one week ago.

    There are two ways you guys can help :

    - Finding a Red one owner near London

    - Sending a Red drive that you are willing to say goodbye to.. Europe based, 1 drive is great, 2 is better..

    As for the coordination through the video chat, that would be of no help, and above all, i have to protect my team.

    The only thing i can tell you is that i feel very privileged to be part of some wild and fascinating discussions, again, brilliant minds are on board and if you are willing to help, you already know how ;)

    @ Steve : Indeed, it feels great to have his blessing ;)

    If you cannot find a drive in Europe, I do have a RED Drive I'm willing to donate. One of the drives inside stopped working as it no longer mounts.
    I believe the ports, LEMO connector, and other parts of the drive are still fine.

    Please let me know if you need it.

    @Mendes Nabil

    I have reached out to the group moderator to expedite your admission to the group (I don't think he checks the group often since he doesn't own the camera anymore). In the meantime, I have reposted your request. There are over 700 people in that group. Hopefully at least one will be in Europe and have a Red Drive for you.

    But this is cool... and am totally good with this experiment happening. Normal disclaimers of if you break it it’s on you but for the R1 your already kinda on your own anyways so have at it :)
    Nice one! Long live the R1! :D

    Drop me a line on this- might be able to save you a bunch of work. Not just a UK owner of a RED One still, but know a thing or two about what you’re looking at doing :)

    @ Brian :
    To give you a tiny bit more information, we already have a drive, but having 2 others (at best) would speed things up considerably..
    If we don't find ones in Europe, i'll let you know. Thank you a lot for your proposition!

    @Nick : Thank you very much, i'll post a message there!

    @John : I'm dropping you a line..

    This project feels like an archeological exploration and i'm blessed to be surrounded by masters at their craft.
    I'm telling you guys, we are on the right path..

    Thank you all for the support!

    I would love a simple PCB / 3D printed solution to use a red approved CFAST card on a red one body... that would be sick.
