So it's looking like I will be taking a family trip for my fiance's family to Texas in early June and would really like to bring my RED and was wondering if you were allowed to bring redvolts on a carry on bag of a plane? I know there are some battery restrictions when it comes to planes but i dont know if REDVOLTS fall under that? I have 8 of them. I havent traveled on a plane with camera equipment in 16 years or so, so im a little rusty on the process. Let me know the best way I can get through security with my RED and get it safe with me on the plane.

Yes you should be allowed to bring them as hand luggage. As they are not more than.... I think 120Wh each. I took redvolts plenty of times on US domestic and international flights and got through with little or no hassle.

Checkout the FAA site for limitations on batteries in carry-on and checked baggage.

100wh and under you can carry on as many as you like.

Never check in lithium ion, not even by accident.

I fly with 100wh v mounts on the regular - never have a problem.
