So ZITAY is reccomending the Samsung 860 EVO, I assume its has something to do with the slower read and write speeds ie heat but not sure. I reached out to there support with no reply so I said let me bring it to the big boys in the RED forum. Based on samsungs site the 860 EVO read 550mb/s and write of 520mb/s
not supported 970 EVO read 3400mb/s and write of 1500mb/s and 970 EVO Plus read 3500mb/s and write of 3200mb/s

ANYONE with information on DRIVES SPECIFICS are appreciated. Anyone understand why the governing rules and recommendations are the way they are? Please help, I would like a 2 or 3TB if possible Please Give me some direction and what some of you have Found actually work. ZITAY has been of no reply and I need some answers and I'm not trying to melt down my komodo shooting long talking heads. LOL (HELP and thanks again)

Thad,

Have you looked into the SanDisk PRO-BLADE Modular SSD Ecosystem if you were looking for a 2 to 3GB solution?

Hey Rand thanks for the feedback and for adding something else I now want and need lol, i had never seen that before but that doesn't really speak to the solution I'm looking for. I see that device allows you to use a m.2 nvme drive with RED komodo CFAST. Know what I mean.

Yeah,

My bad, you were looking for something with a Cfast adapter so that you could record directly from the card slot. I'll see what I can find around the net.

Thanks Rand......it seems to be a situation because the news NVme cards are like 6 times faster and the manufacture seems to say that's not a good thing lol. Let me know and thanks for you time.

One more for you if you can. IN THE CFAST FORM, are there any brands that you would recommend that are a little more reasonably priced? If so what brands are they etc. Thanks

I think I learned one more thing..... seems the CFAST cards write at 560 mbs . Hmmm

I never used any CFAST cards for really anything so unfortunately I can't really give you any informed advice on that topic. However, I only use Samsung M.2 and 2.5 inch SSD drives I've never had a problem with any of them. If I get a new laptop or had to use external storage that allowed for M.2 or 2.5 inch SSD drives they would be Samsung 870, 970 or 980 drives. I currently have a 950 PRO M.2 boot drive and a 960 Pro M.2, a 850 EVO M.2 and a 850 2.5 inch EVO drives for storage as part of my laptop.

You won't be getting NVMe to work here, SATA however yes. You need to use compatible standards to get this to work.

Thanks for the feedback, what I had learned as you guys were replying is that a simple google search yield alot of information but on the technical side of speed and form factor etc.....NVME and m.2 are different in both form factor and potential read and write speeds....m.2 is limitited and it's seems tk be depentent on system bus.... (I think)...!!?? Where as the NVME seems to be limitless in such as way SPEED wise. I've found a few and it's seems like finding them above 2TB is tough.... thanks Roberto , Phill and Rand. This is a really good place. Roberto I'm going look into that joint you just shared I feel like I saw thar before I purchased this one I have but it was like none in stock anywheee. When I get to my computer I'm going to share some of what I've found. Also received a reply from the manufacture I want to share here. Thanks again

Tons of 1TB's I've never heard of. A handful of 2TB's Top two I've found.
